Dosage and use

Use about 30 ml per trap, poured into the reservoir or onto a sponge, wick or other absorbent material, depending on the trap. Follow the trap instructions, check the level regularly, top up when needed and replace dirty attractant.

Where to place the trap

Near bee colonies where Asian hornets are active, or wherever you see them flying. About 1.5 m high, in a sheltered spot in (partial) shade, protected from rain and strong wind, and easy to reach for checks.

Basis or Floral?

Basis is a reliable everyday attractant. Floral has more scent and works even better in some gardens and apiaries. Every location is different: if in doubt, try both under similar conditions.

Selective use only

Only use a suitable selective hornet trap that lets non-target insects escape. Check the trap regularly, release bycatch safely and follow local guidance.
